Job summary

Oakmont of Santa Clarita is seeking an Activity Assistant to support vibrant, resident-centered programs Fridays and Saturdays. You will help plan events, recruit volunteers, and coordinate engaging activities while ensuring safety and teamwork across departments.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a positive, patient attitude, and basic MS Office skills. A valid license with passenger endorsement is preferred, and background checks plus health screenings are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old and high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors preferred.
• Requires valid driver's license; Class C with Passenger Endorsement preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
• Must pass criminal background check and health screenings including TB.
• Vaccination/testing per regulatory guidelines may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in creating a rewarding social atmosphere.
• Develop and schedule community volunteers and activities.
• Communicate tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain a safe environment following safety standards.
• Able to drive community vehicles and support transportation needs.
• Encourage teamwork across departments.
