Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician - Retail 1 to join our outpatient pharmacy team at Missouri Baptist. You will perform clerical and dispensing duties, enter information into the pharmacy IT system, and manage inventory in a patient‑centered, collaborative setting.

Experience in retail or outpatient pharmacy is preferred. This full-time role offers weekday daytime hours with no weekends or holidays, and requires State Board Pharmacy Registration.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacy technician required.
• Previous retail or outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• State Board Pharmacy Registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Completes clerical duties, to include sending and receiving tubes & faxes, filing prescriptions, processing mail & courier prescriptions.
• Enters customer, insurance and prescription information and completes prescription transfers.
• Sells prescriptions (POS system), handles cash, manages payment exceptions and reconciles cash.
• Orders and manages inventory (drug and non-drug); stocks shelves; rotates, organizes, and removes expired product; performs cycle counts and returns to stock.
• Completes data entry, contact manager, product dispensing (manual and automated via Parata and RxSafe), and basic compounding.
