Parkland Health Center in Farmington, MO is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Retail 1 to join a patient-centered outpatient team. Under the supervision of a staff pharmacist, you will enter information into the pharmacy IT system, sell prescriptions, manage inventory and assist with prescription workflow.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and State Board Pharmacy Registration. No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician - Retail 1, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, performs general clerical and support duties for the department. This position is also responsible for entering information into the pharmacy IT system, selling prescriptions, managing inventory and completing prescription workflow steps.

Responsibilities

• Completes clerical duties, to include sending and receiving tubes & faxes, filing prescriptions, processing mail & courier prescriptions.
• Enters customer, insurance and prescription information and completes prescription transfers.
• Sells prescriptions (POS system), handles cash, manages payment exceptions and reconciles cash.
• Orders and manages inventory (drug and non-drug); stocks shelves; rotates, organizes, and removes expired product; performs cycle counts and returns to stock.
• Completes data entry, contact manager, product dispensing (manual and automated via Parata and RxSafe), and basic compounding.
