Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician to join its Retail team in Missouri. The role focuses on patient-centered service, billing accuracy, and specialty pharmacy support with a schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, and no weekends or holidays.

Two years of pharmacy experience are required, with specialty pharmacy experience preferred. State board registration and a pharmacy technician certification are requested candidates.

Qualifications

• 2 years of pharmacy experience required.
• Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle Retail Pharmacy Technician I & II duties: clerical tasks, data entry, cash handling, reconciliation, inventory, compounding, and training new staff.
• Manage patient and internal billing and reconciliation.
• Serve as lead for a task/area (e.g., purchasing, automation, shipping) as assigned.
• Perform administrative duties including insurance audits and supply management.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician - Retail 3, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, performs all of the level I and II retail technician functions. This position is also responsible for managing billing and reconciliation, assumes primary responsibility for a specific task or function, and completes administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Handles all Retail Pharmacy Technician I and II responsibilities, to include clerical duties, data entry, cash handling & reconciliation, inventory management, advanced compounding and orientation/training of new team members.
• Manages patient & internal billing and reconciliation.
• Assumes primary responsibility for a specific task, function or area of specialty which could include but is not limited to purchasing, automation, shipping, or lead technician for a specific area of workflow.
• Performs administrative responsibilities that include, but are not limited to responding to insurance audits, supply management and bank deposits.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2-5 years

Licenses & Certifications

• State Bd Pharm Registration
• Pharmacy Tech Certification
