Job summary

Chartwells K12 in Saint Louis Public Schools seeks a full-time Chef to lead culinary operations within the school dining program. The role directs kitchen staff, prepares meals, and ensures safety and quality across daily service.

You must have prior culinary, food safety, menu planning, inventory, and supervisory experience. Hours are Monday–Friday with no weekends or evenings; compensation ranges from $18 to $23 per hour.

• Prior culinary experience with focus on school dining operations.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and compliance.
• Experience in menu planning and inventory management.
• Supervisory experience and ability to manage kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervises cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring food safety and service standards.
• Directs food production and serving to meet schedules.
• Manages inventory, ordering, and quality control of ingredients.
• Maintains sanitation, portion control and presentation standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
