Job summary

Chartwells K-12 is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time CHEF positions at Hazelwood School District in Florissant, MO. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with online applications accepted.

Directs, coordinates and evaluates kitchen staff and food production to meet sanitation, quality and service standards. Prior culinary experience is required, with a focus on high-quality meals and proper food handling.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coordinates and participates in cooking and serving food.
• Interviews, schedules, payroll, training and disciplinary actions for kitchen staff.
• Prepares high-quality items according to recipes to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Ensures proper presentation, food quality, portion control and serving temperatures.
• Manages inventory and tracks food use and waste to requisition or purchase products.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and workstation; keeps area clean during service.
• Helps select and develop recipes and menus.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
