Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients in PreOp/PACU with continual evaluation of condition.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique as appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation; assess, plan, implement and evaluate for discharge.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort and privacy at all times.
