Job summary

Baylor Surgicare at Denton is seeking a Registered Nurse for PreOp/PACU to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgery. The role emphasizes patient safety, comfort and privacy from admission through recovery, with opportunities to assist in the procedure rooms and anesthesia-related care.

Mondays through Fridays, no night shifts, no weekends or holidays required, and a supportive environment focused on professional growth and well-being within a USPI joint

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS, ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgement.
• Prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients in PreOp/PACU.
• Continuously evaluate patient condition, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique as appropriate.
• Deliver total comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation; plan and evaluate for discharge.
