Job summary

Singing Hills Surgery Center in Comal County, just north of San Antonio, seeks a PRN RN in PreOp/PACU to join a small OR team with two rooms. Weekdays only—no holidays, weekends, or on-call duties.

Some early mornings and late evenings may be required, depending on the surgical schedule and day flow. The RN will provide continuous nursing care before and after anesthesia, assist physicians in procedure rooms with sedation using sterile technique, and assess patients for discharge readiness while

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients in PACU after anesthesia.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile technique.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care and discharge readiness.
