Job summary

NOVA Parks is seeking a Catering Captain to ensure flawless execution of weddings and high-end social events. You will supervise on-site catering staff, coordinate with the kitchen and service teams, and ensure health and safety standards are maintained throughout the event.

Must be 21+, with at least 2 years of catering banquet supervision. This on-site role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves lifting up to 50lbs and handling alcohol service.

Qualifications

• Must be age 21 or over.
• Minimum 2 years catering banquet service and supervision.
• Strong working knowledge of food and beverage service.
• Ability to motivate staff and make quick decisions.
• Physical stamina to lift 50lbs and perform related tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Variable schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Driver’s license with clean record preferred and ServSafe/TIPS training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee execution of catering proposals for weddings and high-end events.
• Supervise on-site event staff and supervise facility operations during events.
• Attend pre-event meetings to review proposals, floorplans, and timelines.
• Ensure facility cleanliness and monitor health and sanitation standards.
• Greet guests professionally and coordinate catering details with kitchen and service staff.
• Direct setup and breakdown of seating, décor, and service items.
• Maintain staff punctuality, attire, grooming, and uniform standards.
• Provide guidance to bartenders, servers, and dishwashers and ensure timely service.
