Job summary

Hy-Vee’s Bakery is seeking a Cake Designer who will bring customer visions to life on birthday, wedding, and everyday cakes. You’ll greet customers, take orders at the bakery counter, and ensure each creation meets precise size, icing, and design specifications.

You’ll lead part-time teammates, coordinate with the Bakery Manager, and help keep daily production on schedule while staying up-to-date with the latest decorating trends and techniques.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Decorating skills and eye for detail essential.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and take cake orders at the bakery counter.
• Check daily orders, set up production timelines, and verify cake details (size, deco pack, icing, dates).
• Decorate items and stay current on designs and trends.
• Develop daily bakery orders for bakers and manage production flow.
• Lead and train part-time staff and coordinate with the Bakery Manager.
