Job summary

SOFT Inc. seeks a seasoned WebSphere Middleware Administrator for a long-term remote contract. The role focuses on advanced WebSphere administration, automation via Ansible and scripting, and collaboration with security and development teams.

Ideal candidates have strong UNIX skills, experience with CI/CD (GitLab), and familiarity with Terraform; WebSphere Liberty experience is a plus. Remote work is supported from the United States.

Qualifications

• Provide middleware IBM WebSphere System Administration support for critical applications.
• Seasoned WebSphere Application server Administrator with advanced knowledge of HTTP, Application Server, Java and Plugin components [version 8.5.5 and 9 ND edition].
• Experience with WebSphere Liberty; WebSphere MORE a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide middleware IBM WebSphere System Administration support for critical applications.
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to identify automation opportunities
• Document automation processes, procedures, and best practices
• Share knowledge with Federal Reserve resources and assist with the development of in-house expertise
• Mentor team members and conduct code reviews
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in automated systems
• Continuously improve existing automation frameworks for scalability and maintainability

Job description

SOFT's client located in Remotely is looking for a WebSphere Middleware Administrator for a long term contract assignment.

Qualifications:

Provide middleware IBM WebSphere System Administration support for critical applications.

Should be a seasoned WebSphere Application server Administrator with advance knowledge of HTTP, Application Server, Java and Plugin components [version 8.5.5 and 9 ND edition]

Experience with WebSphere Liberty, WebSphere MORE is a plus.

Proficient in troubleshooting, installations, failover, disaster recovery, security configuration, LTM, Junctions, certificate management, Performance tuning for WebSphere, Automation tools e.g. XL/Deploy

Strong UNIX and Scripting skills (Shell Scripts, Python/Jython)

Ansible automation, CI/CD-GitLab experience is preferred. AWS, Terraform familiarity is a plus.

Familiarity with MQ, File Transfer and Database (Oracle/SQL) connectivity to WebSphere

Good communication and collaborative skills dealing with customers, other technical partners; Familiarity with Change management process.
