The Institute of Foundation Models (IFM) is a research lab focused on building, understanding, using, and risk-managing foundation models. This role blends development and visual design to maintain a high-performance website and create visuals that convey complex research clearly.
You will own IFM's visual identity, work with an external design agency to ensure consistency, and partner with social media and content teams to support owned channels across X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
We are a dedicated research lab for building, understanding, using, and risk-managing foundation models. Our mandate is to advance research, nurture the next generation of AI builders, and drive transformative contributions to a knowledge-driven economy.
As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on the core of cutting-edge foundation model training, alongside world-class researchers, data scientists, and engineers, tackling the most fundamental and impactful challenges in AI development. You will participate in the development of groundbreaking AI solutions that have the potential to reshape entire industries. Strategic and innovative problem-solving skills will be instrumental in establishing MBZUAI as a global hub for high-performance computing in deep learning, driving impactful discoveries that inspire the next generation of AI pioneers.
IFM is looking for a dual-skilled Web Developer and Visual Designer - someone equally comfortable writing code and designing visuals. This role owns and maintains a high-performance website, while also producing the visual assets (diagrams, graphics, presentation templates, short videos) that shape how IFM's work is perceived externally.
This is not a purely technical or purely creative role. We need someone who can build when needed, keep the site running smoothly, and carry forward a strong, consistent visual identity---including partnering with our external design agency to ensure continuity of design and through once their engagement winds down.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information.
