Job Description

Overview

Assist Foreman and skilled craft workers in performing their duties under close supervision. This entry-level position is designed to help you learn essential skills in construction.

Job Duties

1. Dig, spread, and level dirt, sand, and gravel using hand tools.
2. Lift, carry, and manually transport construction materials, tools, and supplies.
3. Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
4. Mix and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials using hand tools.
5. Join, wrap, and seal pipe sections.
6. Perform routine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, and assembling pipe sections.
7. Assist with machine tasks like tapping soil, jackhammering, and pipe fusing.
8. Contribute to team efforts to meet departmental and company goals.
9. Lead by example and share knowledge/skills with others.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
2. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
3. Ability to move throughout the construction site, climb ladders, operate heavy equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
4. Physical ability to perform strenuous activities outdoors in various weather conditions.
5. Manual dexterity to handle tools and materials.
