The 12-week program emphasizes learning through real tasks, documentation, and collaboration with engineers, managers, and field crews.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or related 4-year program.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to perform construction math and basic field operations.

Responsibilities

• Acquire, organize, review and distribute information to the construction services group.
• Maintain communication with project teams regarding construction services activities.
• Assist with takeoffs, pricing, and contracts for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support scheduling and material deliveries for project needs.
• Assist in updating and publishing monthly reports and logs.
• Support quality control compliance of operations across groups.
• Assist field operations and coordination of crews on site.
• Prepare reports and business correspondence for the team.

As an intern, you will have similar responsibilities to those of an entry-level Construction Services Engineer providing support to the Construction Services Director as well as managers and engineers of Concrete Paving, Barrier Wall, Precast Concrete, Asset Management, and Geotechnical departments. The support goals include Goal Setting, Planning, Communicating, Organizing, Implementing, and Tracking to ensure highway and bridge construction projects are well planned and successfully executed.
