Job summary

Schwab is seeking a Web3 Engineer to design, build, and scale tokenization infrastructure across Ethereum/EVM, Besu, Canton, and other networks. You will own backend services coordinating blockchain nodes, wallets, signing, and custody integrations in a high-security, production environment.

The role requires hands-on building across smart contracts, token lifecycle services, event indexing, and distributed systems.

Qualifications

5+ years building distributed systems or backend platforms.
Hands-on Web3 engineering with Ethereum/EVM expertise.
Experience with blockchain nodes, wallets, and custody integrations.
Familiarity with Canton, Daml, or institutional blockchain workflows.
Proficient in one or more backend languages (Java/Go/Kotlin/TS/Rust/Python/C++).

Responsibilities

Design and build reusable Web3 platform services for tokenization and transaction processing.
Develop backend services interacting with blockchain nodes, smart contracts, and custody platforms.
Create blockchain abstraction layers across networks including Besu, Canton, Ethereum, and private chains.
Implement blockchain connectivity using JSON-RPC and WebSocket; manage event indexing and contract interactions.
Define engineering standards for smart-contract development and secure deployment pipelines.
