At Brigham Young University (BYU), your work is an opportunity to contribute to a distinctive educational mission rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students.

As the flagship university of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, BYU strives to be among the exceptional universities in the world. We are devoted to our faith, our students, and the University’s Mission: “To assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life.”

We seek staff members who enthusiastically embrace and advance this unique mission. Across the university, staff bring their expertise and talents to work that helps students learn, grow, and thrive. A culture of covenant belonging, weekly devotionals, meaningful opportunities for learning and growth, and a beautiful and historic campus make BYU a distinctive and inspiring place to build a career.

United by our common primary identity as children of God, BYU values and embraces the variety of individual characteristics, life experiences and circumstances, perspectives, talents, and gifts across the BYU community. This richness strengthens our shared efforts to create and support an environment of covenant belonging centered in Jesus Christ.

Employment Requirements

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend to be hired and to remain in any position at BYU.

In hiring decisions, Brigham Young University lawfully gives strong preference to qualified, faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All employees are required to abide by the university’s Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards. Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university, which are aligned with the principles and doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Equal Opportunity

Brigham Young University is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability or protected veteran status.

WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1973, the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University (BYU Law) has grown into one of the nation’s leading law schools. Boasting an expert faculty and strong student body, the Law School provides an exceptional “education grounded in legal theory, enhanced by experiential learning, and enlightened by the laws of God.” (BYU Law Educational Objectives). Dedicated to educating the whole person, BYU Law seeks to “develop people of integrity who combine faith and intellect in lifelong service to God and neighbor.” (BYU Law Mission Statement).

WHAT WE DO

At BYU Law, we prepare students for meaningful careers and contributions to our society. We afford students opportunities to develop leadership, transactional, and litigation skills. We equip students with cross-cultural competence, preparing them to engage and communicate effectively. We inspire students to acquire and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, civility, and ethics. And we embrace a whole-building approach, engaging every member of the BYU Law community in developing the professional competencies, character, and diversity of our student’s gifts.

WHAT YOU’LL DO IN THIS POSITION

BYU Law is looking for a proactive professional to support our web content management, technical initiatives, and digital project planning. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping information accurate, coordinating across teams, and making sure digital projects run smoothly from start to finish.

We especially encourage applications from individuals who may not consider themselves “tech experts” but are curious, conscientious, and motivated by helping others. We’ve found that people with life experience—particularly those returning to work, shifting careers, or looking for flexible part‑time roles—often excel in this role. If you are good at listening, organizing, learning new tools, and seeing things through, we’d love to hear from you.

This position is on‑site at the law school, with the potential for occasional remote work, depending on the project. Training and mentoring will be provided, especially for tools or systems you may not have used before. Ongoing learning is expected and supported — we know no one has every skill on day one.

Responsibilities
Web Content Coordination
  • Review and monitor 35+ internal and public-facing web pages for accuracy and relevance.
  • Coordinate and implement requests for updates or new content from law school departments and faculty.
  • Document content requirements and route requests to internal or external web developers as needed.
  • Track progress on development and ensure timely completion of changes.
Digital and Technical Project Support
  • Assist with planning and monitoring digital library initiatives, including research data projects.
  • Help manage small‑scale technical tasks, such as printing support, hardware inventory, and email/account setup.
  • Coordinate routine administrative IT tasks (“RATS”) to ensure smooth law school operations.
  • Work with the IT and library teams to identify needs, propose solutions, and monitor project milestones.
WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE?
Required
  • 1 year of working with people, helping them to achieve their goals, and recording progress.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to listen to and understand the needs of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize tasks, follow up on assignments, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Interest in learning new technologies and confidence to ask questions or seek training when needed.
  • Ability to write clearly and document needs, procedures, or progress for others.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in an academic environment.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree AND two or more years of related experience
  • Experience with website content editing tools (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or CMS platforms).
  • Familiarity with project tracking tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Microsoft Planner).
  • Prior experience in a library, higher education, or nonprofit setting.
  • Basic comfort with spreadsheets, file management, and email systems.
WHAT WE OFFER IN RETURN

This position comes with fantastic benefits, including:

  • Employee assistance program, available to the employee and all members of their household
  • Access to the library
  • Free on-campus parking
  • Free UTA pass
  • Discounts at the BYU Store and for many events at BYU

Pay Grade: 49

Typical Starting Pay: $22.50to $29.25 hourly

The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors.
