Job summary

Hampton Roads Transit seeks a motivated Web Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise web applications and public-facing websites. You will work with Digital Services & Web Development to deliver secure, high-quality web solutions and excellent user experiences.

The role requires hands-on development across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, and MySQL/MariaDB, with Git-based workflows and CI/CD in mind.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• Four or more years of professional web app development experience.
• Experience in source-controlled environments, deployment processes, and database-driven apps.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain modern web applications and websites.
• Build integrations between web apps, databases, APIs, and third-party services.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical solution design.
• Follow development standards, documentation, change management, and QA.
