Qualifications

• Experience building web applications with a modern framework (1+ year).
• Familiarity with ASP.NET Core, FastAPI, Django or Flask.
• Experience with React/Angular/Vue in front-end projects.
• Knowledge of Python or C# (ASP.NET).
• Experience with ORM databases (MySQL, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

Description:

Performs administrative, development, maintenance and othertechnical duties in support of the University of Houston World WideWeb site and server. Assists the Web Administrator in maintainingefficient operation of the university Web services. Pursuant to theState of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches,works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires theability to maintain the security or integrity of the Universityinfrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinelyreviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuousconnections for the government or political apparatus of a foreignadversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintainthe security or integrity of the infrastructure.

• Develops and implements applications, database interfaces andservices for the website, using programming languages such as Perl,CGI, HTML, Java, XML, php, or Apache.
• Assists with management of the University of Houston Web server,including testing and upgrades, CGI-BIN administration and filesystem management.
• Creates and maintains web analysis tools or other webservices.
• Coordinates with division contacts and updates information onthe website to ensure that the university is wellrepresented.
• Researches and evaluates new techniques and software for use onthe UH web site.
• Coordinates assigned projects and leads the work of other Webstaff assigned to the projects.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Duties

• Maintain departmental websites within the University CMS,coordinating with the content owners to ensure that the Universityis well-represented, and that content is updated in a timelyfashion.
• Use Github, CI/CD pipelines, DevOPs workflows to manage applicationdevelopment and deployment.
• Deploy and maintain applications using Azure, AWS, or other cloudenvironments provided by the University.

The Ideal Candidate

• At least one year of experience building web applications utilizinga modern web framework such as ASP.NET Core, FastAPI, Django, Flaskor similar
• Experience using React, Angular, Vue, or similar JavaScriptframework
• Enthusiasm for learning on the job
