ALTA IT Services is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Web Content Specialist to support a leading health insurance client. The Web Content Specialist will play a key role in editing, implementing, and managing content across various external-facing web and digital platforms, including websites and email communications. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure content meets branding, legal, accessibility, and usability standards, while aligning with marketing and business goals.
Perform updates and edits to websites using a content management system (CMS) and basic HTML.
Ensure web content aligns with style guides, accessibility (508 compliance), and SEO best practices.
Tag content with appropriate metadata to improve searchability.
Collaborate with business owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates.
Manage and execute content changes in line with legal, branding, and editorial guidelines.
Prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines with consistent communication and follow-through.
Draft and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) for content management processes.
Use analytics and SEO insights to optimize content structure, navigation, and user experience.
Assist in testing new designs, pages, and digital features.
Conduct unit and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure functionality and compliance.
Document findings and ensure proper resolution of issues before deployment.
Ensure editorial consistency, clarity, grammar, and style across all content.
Use enterprise email platforms to build and edit outbound messages.
Manage email distribution lists and validate content and links prior to sending.
Ensure all email communications align with brand and functional standards.
Generate and analyze reports on recipient behavior and engagement.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Writing, or a related field.
In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of relevant experience will be considered.
Minimum 1 year of experience in web content editing or content management.
Experience working with CMS platforms and editing web pages using HTML.
Strong proofreading and web content editing skills.
Working knowledge of web usability, SEO, and 508 accessibility standards.
Familiarity with CMS tools (e.g., Drupal, WordPress, SharePoint, Joomla, TeamSite).
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign).
HTML and CSS editing capabilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong communication and customer service skills, including the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
