Job summary

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, ITS is seeking a Web Application Developer to build and maintain web applications and Microsoft 365-based tools for UTIA. Working under the direction of senior ITS staff, you will gather requirements with campus clients, design solutions, test functionality, troubleshoot issues, and support implementation.

This role leads small‑to‑medium IT projects, manages timelines, and ensures solutions align with UTIA branding, accessibility, quality, and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience accepted.
• Three years of .NET application development experience may substitute for degree.
• Ability to conceptualize technical solutions, build and test applications, and troubleshoot effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom web applications and digital solutions for UTIA units, faculty, staff, and students.
• Partner with ITS colleagues and clients to gather requirements, evaluate options, and design effective solutions.
• Build, test, troubleshoot, deploy, and support applications that meet functionality, accessibility, security, and quality standards.
• Lead small‑to‑medium‑scoped IT projects, including scope, timelines, priorities, and progress reporting.
• Create efficient web‑based processes and forms for clients using Microsoft tools.
• Support data centralization efforts to reduce redundancy across the Institute.
• Provide regular project updates and incorporate feedback from UTIA leaders, supervisors, and ITS staff.
