Job summary

University of Tennessee, Institute of Agriculture, seeks a Web Application Developer to build and maintain web apps and Microsoft 365 tools for UTIA units, faculty, staff, and students. You will gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure accessibility, security, and branding compliance.

The role collaborates with ITS and campus clients to deliver tested, deployable solutions while leading small to medium IT projects and providing ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; equivalent combinations may be considered.
• Experience: 3 years in .NET application development may substitute for degree.
• Demonstrated ability to conceive, build, test, and deploy solutions.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Strong documentation and communication skills; familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications and Microsoft 365-based tools for UTIA.
• Gather requirements, evaluate options, and design effective solutions with clients.
• Build, test, troubleshoot, deploy, and support applications meeting standards.
• Lead small- to medium-scoped IT projects with scope, timelines, and progress tracking.
• Create efficient web-based processes and forms using Microsoft tools.
• Support data centralization efforts to reduce redundancy across the Institute.
• Provide regular project updates incorporating feedback from UTIA leaders and ITS staff.
