Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a senior data engineering professional for a hybrid role based in Puerto Rico. You will design, build, and maintain web applications enabling critical business functions, while enhancing cloud components and implementing strict access controls to protect sensitive data.

You will work across AI/ML, analytics, and data-driven decision-making ecosystems, partnering with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into secure data solutions.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Experience developing and maintaining modern applications (containers, VMs, serverless) including deployment and patching.
• Ability to provision, configure and manage cloud resources and troubleshoot IAM, RBAC, policies.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks (Spark, PySpark, Databricks, EMR, Glue).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and their native services.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain web applications enabling critical business functions.
• Enhance and maintain application functionality including cloud components.
• Implement access controls and information protection mechanisms for secure data separation.
• Build scalable architectures supporting analytics, AI/ML, and data-driven decisions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into secure data engineering solutions.
• Optimize data workflows for performance, observability, and resiliency in cloud/hybrid platforms.
• Develop reusable patterns, automation, and governance-aligned frameworks for secure enablement.
• Support production systems with data integrity, lineage, and access auditability.
