Job summary

Collins Aerospace is hiring for a hybrid role in Puerto Rico to design and maintain web applications, enable secure data flows, and support cloud-native platforms. The position emphasizes data engineering, IAM, and scalable architectures for analytics and AI/ML.

The candidate should have 5+ years of experience, a university degree, and strong Python/SQL skills across AWS/Azure/GCP, with agile teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Experience in developing and maintaining modern applications (e.g., containers, VMs, serverless), including deployment and patching.
• Ability to provision, configure, and manage cloud resources (compute, storage, networking) and to troubleshoot cloud identity and access management (IAM, RBAC, policies).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks (Spark, PySpark, Databricks, EMR, Glue, or similar).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their native application services.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile teams and collaborate across technical and business functions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain web applications that enable critical business functions.
• Enhance and maintain application functionality, including foundational cloud components.
• Implement access controls, classification rules, and information protection mechanisms to support secure information separation across environments.
• Build scalable architectures that support analytics, AI/ML, digital products, and data-driven decision making within sensitive data landscapes.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business and compliance requirements into reliable, secure data engineering solutions.
• Optimize data workflows for performance, observability, and resiliency across cloud and hybrid platforms.
• Develop reusable patterns, automation, and governance-aligned frameworks that accelerate secure enablement across the organization.
• Support production systems with strong attention to data integrity, lineage, and access auditability.
