Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the discipline-aligned Software Technologies team supporting the Mission Systems Resilient Connectivity Products. The role oversees software development, integration, and testing of embedded systems for critical communications applications.

This hybrid position requires US citizenship, the ability to obtain security clearance, and a track record in leading cross-functional software teams

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by program needs

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate predictable program execution, continuous improvement, and engagement with a talented group of software engineers.
• Work directly with and manage daily activities of software engineers, project engineers and supporting organizations to develop, integrate, and test embedded software in an Agile development environment for software architectures.
• Develop and nurture internal and external networks, ensuring alignment and transparency with stakeholders, forging relationships with peers across RCP Engineering and Value Stream Leadership, industry partners, and third-party vendors.
• Responsible for recruiting/hiring, resource allocation, and overall group management of software engineers, including actively addressing employee performance and career development actions.
