The Web and Database Manager serves as the primary contact for all aspects of the organization’s website and databases needs. They handle a range of responsibilities that may include website management, routine site and content maintenance, database administration and various updates to ensure sites align with the goals and objectives of the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary contact for all technical aspects of the organization’s website(s).
- Serves as primary liaison with the organization’s website hosting company and other technical partners.
- Develops, implements, and maintains e-commerce applications in collaboration with the organization’s retail operations, sales, marketing, and related departments.
- Works with staff and external partners to encourage and facilitate consistent, creative, and unified web design across the organization’s web properties.
Collects and analyzes web analytics and similar data; identifies opportunities to improve search engine optimization (SEO), time on site, web traffic, and other relevant metrics. - Maintains and documents ownership of company’s internet domains.
- Assists employees with use of company websites through one-on-one support, user guides, and training sessions.
- Maintains current knowledge of best practices and emerging developments in web design, web development, and technology.
- Identifies, defines, and assesses the properties and specifications necessary for the database management system (DBMS) to meet current and future needs of the organization.
- Defines a logical database structure for application development based on the organizational structure of the company.
- Defines and executes procedures for testing and implementing new applications in the database environment.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures related to data security and integrity.
- Develops, implements, and monitors access policies, limiting database access on a need-related basis.
- Ensures project and department milestones and goals are met on time and within budget.
- Assesses current and projected database performance and recommends changes and enhancements.
- Drafts training documentation and guidelines for analysts and end users.
- Serves as a point of contact for staff database inquiries and report requests.
- Serves as primary point of contact for database service providers to resolve issues or to develop new functionality.
- Resolves data conflicts for matters such as naming conventions, data privacy, and data ownership.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in DBMS and related technology.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of website management, analytics, design, and SEO best practices and standards.
- Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn web content management systems (NAHRO currently uses WordPress with various plugins), applications, and tools used by the organization.
- Highly proficient with HTML/CSS; working knowledge of XML, SQL, JavaScript, and other programming languages.
- Experience with association management systems (AMS) and/or customer management systems (CMS)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required; knowledge in digital media, web design, and/or computer programming highly preferred.
- Equivalent progressive professional experience may be substituted for education.
- Non-profit association experience preferred
