Job summary

United Way of the Midlands is seeking a Program Assistant (Weatherization Program) in Omaha, NE to provide administrative support to the Manager, Eligibility Operations and assist in 211 and Weatherization projects.

The position requires an Associates degree in a business-related field and 2–4 years of related experience, with strong organizational and communication skills. This on-site role offers flexible duties within the Programs department.

  • Attend staff meetings and take notes.
  • Maintain and update participant and program files.
  • Handle inbound calls when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Program Assistant Summary

The Program Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Manager, Eligibility Operations through various administrative and clerical duties and will provide support to various programs and projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provides support to the Manager, Eligibility Operations
  • Assists in 211 and Weatherization programs and projects
  • Verifies, organizes applications and assists in approvals and denials
  • Communicates between Weatherization Program participants
  • Communicates between 211 Financial Assistance program participants
  • Attends staff meetings and takes notes
  • Makes copies and updates participant and program files as needed
  • Assists with inbound calls when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be highly organized, responsive and be able to handle multiple deliverables at the same time.Must be a great teammate that cares deeply about the overall success of UWM.
Education and Experience

Associates degree in a business-related field or equivalent from two-year college or technical school 2-4 years of related experience.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
