Job summary

Lynker Technologies is seeking an API Engineer in Boulder, CO to design, build, and maintain APIs that ingest structured data and produce versioned outputs in multiple formats. You will work with OpenAPI/JSON Schema, CI/CD, and secure deployment practices in a collaborative, science-driven environment.

You’ll contribute to documentation, testing, and validation, with periodic in-person collaboration along the Colorado Front Range.

Qualifications

• Master's in CS or related field, or Bachelor's plus API experience
• Proficiency in at least one modern language; Python a plus
• Experience designing REST/JSON APIs and working with structured data formats
• Understanding of data schemas and versioning, stable data contracts
• Comfort with Git, Linux, testing, and CLI workflows

Responsibilities

• API development: design and build APIs that ingest structured data and serve results
• Structured outputs: generate versioned, schema-conformant outputs in formats like PDF and JSON
• Schemas & versioning: define and maintain output schemas and API versioning with standards like OpenAPI and JSON Schema
• CLI (secondary): provide a lightweight command-line interface over the same functionality
• Security & deployment: package and deploy services with good access control and secure practices
• Testing & validation: write unit and integration tests and output-validation checks
• Documentation & collaboration: document APIs, schemas, and output formats; coordinate with Science and Platform teams
