Job summary

Lynker Corporation in Colorado is seeking an experienced API Developer to design and build data-centric APIs for weather and climate science applications.

You will implement versioned, schema-conformant outputs (JSON, PDF), define OpenAPI/JSON Schema contracts, and collaborate with Science and Platform teams to ensure secure, scalable deployments in cloud environments. Remote work not specified; occasional in-person collaboration in Colorado Front Range expected.

Qualifications

• Master's in CS/SE/Data Science or related field; Bachelor's + 1-2 years API experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language; Python a plus.
• Experience designing and consuming REST/JSON APIs with structured data.
• Understanding of schemas and versioning for stable data contracts.
• Comfort with Git, Linux, testing, and CLI workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and build APIs that ingest data and serve results.
• Generate versioned, schema-conformant outputs in formats like PDF and JSON.
• Define and maintain output schemas and API versioning with OpenAPI/JSON Schema.
• Provide a lightweight CLI for scripted/batch use.
• Package and deploy services with secure access control.
• Write unit and integration tests and validation checks.
• Document APIs and schemas; collaborate with Science and Platform teams.
