Job summary

Kestra Medical Technologies, Inc. is seeking an ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS) in Columbus, OH to perform patient fittings for wearable defibrillators as part of the sales support team.

The APS will be trained and certified to deliver patient care services on-site at hospitals and patient homes. The role requires patient care experience, clinical or engineering background, and willingness to travel; a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain hospital credentialing are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year in a paid patient care experience (not as a family caregiver)
• Clinical or engineering background which may include nurses, cardiac device sales reps, clinical engineers, cath lab techs, physician assistants, or ECG technicians.
• Disclosure of personal NPI number (if applicable)
• Completion of background check; Florida and Ohio must complete a level 2 screening paid for by Kestra.
• Ability to pay for vendor credentialing upfront during a 90-day probationary period
• Experience in patient and/or clinician education
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a good driving record
• Ability to work in the field in the region; disclosures required for relationships and referral sources
• Credentialing for hospital system entry incl. vaccination/immunization status, background check, drug screen, hospital policies
• Completion of online courses (HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical/Fire Safety)
• Preferred: MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams
• Preferred: direct cardiac patient care experience – RN, RT, CVIS, Paramedic, CRM

Responsibilities

• Act as a contractor ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS) to fit and train local patients with a wearable defibrillator.
• Provide instruction and instill confidence in Assure patients with patient care skills.
• Contact prescribers, caregivers and patients to schedule services.
• Accept assignments including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
• Travel to hospitals and patients' homes to provide fitting services.
• Measure patient to determine garment size.
• Review and transmit essential paperwork to receive the Assure garment and services.
• Manage inventory of Assure system kits and related equipment.
• Adhere to confidentiality policies regarding patient information.
