Job summary

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team at Picatinny Arsenal.

This hands-on role involves disassembly, inspection, refurbishment, testing, and documentation of medium-caliber weapon systems such as M230, M242, XM813, XM913, XM914, and XM915, following manuals and safety standards. The successful candidate will support the MCWS Team, perform basic machining and measurement with micrometers and calipers, maintain test

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; college degree is beneficial.
• Must be US citizen and able to obtain security clearance.
• Ability to pass medical surveillance for energetic materials.
• Must have machine shop experience and be able to lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, refurbish, and reassemble MCWS weapon systems per manuals.
• Conduct functional checks, torque verifications, and hardware replacements.
• Support engineering test events, including fixture setup and instrumentation.
• Maintain test readiness and ensure proper storage and compliance.
• Document maintenance actions using army forms and configuration control.
• Assist with loading, transport, and accountability of inert components.
