Job summary

General Dynamics - Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Tester Apprentice in Colchester, VT to support acceptance testing of advanced weapon systems. You will assist in assembly, perform testing, and help with inspections of equipment, while maintaining safety and SOP compliance.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with 1–2 years of technical training preferred. You’ll work on-site in a team, operating basic equipment and collaborating with engineering and quality groups.

Qualifications

• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years technical or trade training preferred.
• Mechanical assembly experience with hand tools; ability to work in a team; follow written procedures; motivated and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assembly and testing of weapon systems per SOPs; perform production qualification, performance acceptance, product improvement, prototype, interchangeability, endurance, and engineering tests.
• Position and set up targets and perform bore sight; determine and record dispersion and accuracy.
• Receive and inspect weapons, weapon systems and documentation prior to test.
• Analyze malfunctions and assist Quality and Engineering in investigations.
• Perform general maintenance of buildings, equipment and grounds.
