Job summary

Scion Technology is seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer to steer the company’s technology strategy in a hybrid Charlotte-based role. You will lead an engineering organization focused on scalable, secure, and innovative WealthTech software solutions, partnering with executives to align technology with business goals.

The role emphasizes modernization, cloud-based delivery, and building a high-performing team, including recruitment of top technical leaders and establishing engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including CTO/VP of Engineering roles.
• Proven success building and scaling high-performing software engineering teams.
• Strong background in modern software architecture, cloud technologies, DevOps, and enterprise technology strategy.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies, including .NET, C#, SQL Server, APIs, and modern web development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term technology vision, roadmap, and innovation strategy.
• Lead software engineering, architecture, infrastructure, DevOps, security, and tech operations.
• Modernize platforms and drive scalable, secure, cloud-based solutions.
• Build, mentor, and grow engineering organization, recruiting key leaders.
• Establish engineering best practices, software standards, and operational excellence.
• Partner with executives to align tech initiatives with business objectives and product strategy.
• Champion emerging technologies (AI, automation, analytics) to support growth.
• Oversee governance, cybersecurity, vendor relations, budgeting, and long-term investments.
