Job summary

Bank of America Merrill Wealth Management seeks an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to develop and maintain a network of referrals from Merrill Financial Advisors. You will respond to inquiries, interview borrowers, determine financing objectives and advise on policy and pricing while ensuring regulatory compliance.

This in-office role requires SAFE Act registration and strong relationship-building across complex lending scenarios.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years first mortgage origination experience, or 3 years plus two years in financial services.
• Significant experience building relationships with clients.
• Working knowledge of federal real estate lending regulations.
• Ability to build and maintain a solid referral base with Merrill financial advisors.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft applications and loan-status access.
• Demonstrates ownership, accountability and integrity.
• Understands processing, underwriting and/or closing procedures.
• Self-motivated and highly organized.
• Prioritizes multiple competing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manages prospecting clients and initial structuring, aligning with customer objectives.
• Negotiates lending terms, prepares documentation, and advises on policies.
• Maintains a referral network to drive lending opportunities.
• Works with clients through final loan approval and closing.
• Provides guidance to influence strategic decisions.
• Maintains knowledge of lending programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Manages multiple tasks and aligns with bank strategy.
