Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Credit Underwriter II to support credit underwriting and monitoring for new and existing clients in partnership with a credit team. You will independently manage low‑to‑moderate complexity transactions, perform financial analysis, and coach teammates on credit requirements.

The role partners with Credit Advisors to expand lending relationships and ensure adherence to GWIM underwriting standards. Exact title may be Credit Underwriter I or II depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Strong financial analysis, accounting skills, and deal structuring for borrowers with complex balance sheets.
• 3–5+ years of commercial and/or private wealth management credit experience.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build partnerships with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Leads the credit analysis process with the support of other analysts and associates.
• Partners with Credit Officers, Relationship Management, and Risk teammates to understand needs.
• Monitors operating performance and financial condition; identify issues and opportunities.
• Assist in delivery of financial modeling, loan structure, industry, economic analyses.
• Review junior teammates' work to provide coaching and ensure policy compliance.
• Possibly cover a portfolio of clients with limited complexity and approve certain credit actions.
• Participate in loan structure discussions and complete loan documentation with partners.
• Oversee day-to-day management of assigned loan portfolio including collateral releases and covenant management.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve processes.
