Job description

Judson Group is proud to partner with a respected private investment and wealth management firm in downtown Grand Rapids, MI in the search for a relationship-driven Wealth Advisor.

This is an opportunity for a polished advisor to step into a highly visible role serving high-net-worth individuals and families. You’ll act as the primary trusted advisor—delivering sophisticated planning strategies, deepening multi-generational relationships, and contributing to the continued growth of a collaborative, client-first firm.

If you are energized by complex planning, personalized client service, and building meaningful relationships that last for generations, this role offers both impact and autonomy.

Why You’ll Love This Role:
  • Serve as the primary advisor to sophisticated clients who value thoughtful, long-term guidance.
  • Work alongside a team of specialists committed to delivering comprehensive wealth strategies.
  • Play a meaningful role in expanding the firm’s client base and deepening existing relationships.
  • Operate with autonomy in a nimble, growing firm where your contributions are visible and valued.
  • Help families preserve wealth, plan legacies, and navigate life’s most important financial decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Deliver comprehensive, customized wealth plans addressing retirement, asset allocation, risk management, wealth preservation, tax strategies, and wealth transfer.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of investments, federal and state taxation, fiduciary matters, and planning strategies to proactively guide affluent clients through complex financial decisions.
  • Conduct in-depth financial reviews and provide recommendations aligned with each client’s goals, risk tolerance, and preferences.
  • Serve as trustee when appointed, fulfilling fiduciary responsibilities with care and integrity.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, product developments, and planning strategies to provide timely, informed guidance.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal specialists and external advisors (attorneys, accountants, and other centers of influence) to deliver seamless, holistic service.
  • Develop and execute annual account service plans aligned with client segmentation and service standards.
  • Resolve client issues thoughtfully and efficiently, reinforcing your role as the primary relationship lead.
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality client experience across all touchpoints.
  • Proactively source and cultivate new client relationships through personal prospecting and referral development.
  • Build and manage your own pipeline of opportunities.
  • Earn referrals from existing clients, professional partners, and centers of influence.
  • Leverage strong relationship management and consultative sales skills to grow revenue in a competitive marketplace.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field (advanced degree or professional certification required).
  • 5+ years of experience serving high-net-worth clients, including both relationship management and business development.
  • Strong knowledge of income, gift, estate, generation-skipping, and fiduciary taxation.
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth in a competitive wealth management environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a small, fast-growing firm—balancing multiple priorities with flexibility and professionalism.
  • An existing book of business is welcomed but not required.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% for client meetings and events.
