Job summary

Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) in Ohio is seeking a senior underwriter supervisor to oversee underwriting staff across multiple units and ensure compliance with state laws and procedures. This role involves coordinating with NCCI on class code changes and maintaining up-to-date classifications across related systems.

The position is based on-site at various Ohio offices, with a starting location in Youngstown.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of insurance & risk management, laws, rules & procedures governing workers' compensation insurance coverage.
• Ability to write complex reports & position papers; read and evaluate complex technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Underwriting Consultants, Account Examiner 2 Supervisors, and Account Examiner 2s within Classification, Claims Coding and Audit Review Units.
• Review underwriting determinations for sound judgement and compliance with applicable laws and procedures.
• Provide expertise & assistance to staff on underwriting, classification and elective coverage issues.
• Liaise with NCCI; monitor and implement NCCI class code changes and keep related scopes up to date.
• Ensure CoreSuite team implements NCCI changes and updates are applied online.
