Job summary

Ohio BWC seeks a safety expert to analyze data, research solutions, monitor regulations, and develop educational materials to prevent workplace injuries. You will provide training for Ohio employers and BWC staff, identify training needs, and create new classes to improve safety knowledge.

You will coach field staff, conduct quality reviews of on-site activities, and lead regulator updates, including presenting changes to the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in risk management or loss control activities AND 3 years in policy development.
  • OR completion of an undergraduate core program in business administration, risk management or related field AND 3 years in risk management or loss control activities AND 3 years in policy development.
  • OR equivalent minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Location

The selected candidate will be assigned to the BWC office closest to their residence. BWC offices are located in Cleveland, Youngstown, Toledo, Canton, Cambridge, Columbus, and Cincinnati.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide training for Ohio employers and BWC employees, identify training needs, and develop new classes to improve safety knowledge.
  • Coach and mentor field staff by assessing their skills, offering feedback, creating new hire training, and ensuring consistent quality across the state.
  • Conduct quality reviews of on-site safety activities and consultative services to maintain accuracy and effectiveness.

To Qualify
  • 5 years of experience in a public or private organization holding a position involved in risk management or loss control activities AND 3 years of experience in policy development.
  • OR completion of an undergraduate core program in business administration, risk management or related field of study AND 3 years of experience in a public or private organization holding a position involved in risk management or loss control activities AND 3 years of experience in policy development.
  • OR equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Unusual Working Conditions: This position is overtime exempt.

Compensation: $40.40/hr - $57.67/hr.

Schedule: Full-time.

Classification: Classified.
