Permanent Workers’ Compensation (WC) Defense Attorney at a boutique firm. Salary $130,000 - $185,000 per year. Full‑time, permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Handle a caseload of workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution.
- Represent the interests of employers and insurance carriers throughout the state.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in mediation conferences.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to prepare for trials.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court.
- Represent clients in court and argue motions.
- Communicate with clients, judges, and other attorneys in a professional manner.
- Stay updated on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a WC Defense Attorney.
- Admission to the state bar.
- Proven track record of representing employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation cases.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to manage a high‑volume caseload.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of current workers' compensation laws and regulations.
