Job summary

MTC operates Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR, seeking a WBL/BCL Specialist to connect education with employment for students. You will manage industry partnerships, coordinate councils, promote the program, and advocate for community engagement to advance opportunities for young adults.

The role emphasizes outreach, student placement support, and accurate reporting to center leadership while collaborating with local employers and the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or education and one year related experience preferred.
• Directly related experience and/or training may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Experience with youth and strong written/verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Industry & Business Partnership Development: build relations with employers and apprenticeship programs.
• Council Coordination: lead Workforce Council and Industry Council to align training with needs.
• CRC meetings to educate community about the program and center.
• Community Outreach & Public Relations: serve as center spokesperson at events and tours.
• Student Career Support: help students secure internships, jobs, or further education.
• Community Service & Projects: plan and manage student volunteer activities.
• Reporting & Administration: maintain records and submit reports to directors.
