Job summary

Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) is seeking an Iowa Office of Apprenticeship (IOA) Project Manager to advance work-based learning (WBL) across the state from Des Moines, IA.

The role focuses on coordinating major RA projects, creating strong project plans, and delivering technical assistance to businesses, schools, and communities. Collaboration with IOA staff and external partners is essential to expand high-quality apprenticeship opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 4 years of professional work in administration, development, operations, or management; or 8 years total education/experience with college credits.
• Two years of professional work in program administration/ development/ operations/ management plus required education/experience combination.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate major Registered Apprenticeship projects and RA initiatives.
• Develop clear project plans and internal processes; create data tracking tools.
• Provide technical assistance, advise on program structure, and promote work-based learning opportunities.
• Collaborate with IOA staff, IWD teams, and external stakeholders to align initiatives with workforce priorities.
