Job summary

Alene Candles Midwest is seeking a Wax Supervisor for the 2nd shift to direct the wax department, plan work, assign tasks, and train new employees in a fully benefited salaried role. This onsite position supports production at our New Albany, OH location in a climate-controlled environment.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills to maintain quality and safety standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• 5 years related experience and/or training; combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Previous supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Supervise the wax department, directing activities to maintain schedules and meet production needs.
• Review production schedule for capacity requirements and daily production needs.
• Prepare all necessary paperwork.
• Monitor raw component melting for production wax batches (HVO, micro, flakes, oven work).
• Supervise raw material inventory and maintain 99.5% accuracy.

The Position

Alene Candles Midwest is seeking a Wax Supervisor - 2nd Shift. This is a full-time, fully benefited salaried position. You will direct the activities of the wax department. They will operate from a narrow scope of responsibility to maintain wax schedules and ensure production needs are met, plan work, make assignments, and train new employees.

The Location

We are located at 8860 Smith's Mill Road, New Albany, OH. This is an onsite position in a climate controlled environment.

Additional Job Details

• Supervision of wax mixing, tank farm and inventory activities and staff.
• Review production schedule for capacity requirements and daily production needs.
• Prepare all necessary paperwork.
• Monitor raw component melting needed for production wax batches RE: HVO, micro, flakes and components needing oven work.
• Supervises raw material inventory and maintain 99.5% accuracy.
• Coordinate activities and designate appropriate daily work assignments.
• Oversee and enforce standard operating procedures to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Communicate to other shifts completion on necessary tasks required of them.
• Maintain Alene 5’S standards of performance and comply with housekeeping, safety policies and procedures.
• Supervises hourly, non-exempt Wax Team. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; motivating and appraising performance; reward and discipline of employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, project organization and process improvement.
• Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years related experience and/or training; combination of education and experience will be considered
• Previous supervisory experience

• Strong written and verbal communication
• Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience with inventory management a plus
