3rd shift position: Monday - Friday 10pm - 6:30am

Training on 1st shift

Purpose:

Under general supervision, inspect wax patterns and assemblies for conformance to specifications following established methods and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Work from inspection procedures, specifications, photographs, and/or instructions to visually inspect and check wax patterns for surface finish and smoothness, blending of features, flash, non-fills, air bubbles, core pulls, holes, and cracks.
2. Perform dimensional checks using various precision measuring instruments including micrometers, verniers, and scales.
3. Detect, track, and report defective parts or unusual conditions.
4. Advise lead personnel, supervision, and wax operators of any apparent quality problems to correct them at that operation.
5. Effectively communicate to Engineering when issues arise concerning defective parts.
6. Load inspection data into the First Time Yield spreadsheet.

Special Skills and Physical Requirements:

• Ability to use common inspection tools such as verniers, micrometers, and dial gauges.
• Ability to translate information into a clear and legible inspection report.

Reporting Relations:

• The Wax Inspector reports to the Wax Engineer.
• Works closely with Product Engineers and takes technical direction.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum computer skills.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Organize and file paperwork.
