3rd shift position: Monday - Friday 10pm - 6:30am

Training on 1st shift

PURPOSE:

Under general supervision inspect wax patterns and assemblies for conformance to specifications following established methods and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work from inspection procedures, specifications, photographs and/or instructions to visually inspect and check wax patterns for surface finish and smoothness, blending of features, flash, non-fills, air bubbles, core pulls, holes and cracks.
  • Perform dimensional checks using various precision measuring instruments including micrometers, verniers, scale.
  • Detect, track and report defective parts or unusual conditions.
  • Advise leadpeople, supervision, and wax operator of any apparent quality problems in an effort to correct them at that operation.
  • Effectively communicate to Engineering when issues arise concerning defective parts.
  • Load inspection data into the First Time Yield spread sheet.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ability to use common inspection tools such as verniers, micrometers and dial gages
  • The ability to translate information into an inspection report in a clear and legible manner

REPORTING RELATIONS:

  • The Wax Inspector reports to the Wax Engineer
  • The Wax Inspector does take technical direction and works closely with Product Engineers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum computer skills
  • Read and follow instructions
  • Able to lift 35 lbs
  • Organize and file paper work
