Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. in Olive Branch, MS is seeking a Wave Closure Clerk to monitor and reconcile released waves, validate WIP, and coordinate with operations to resolve exceptions in a fast-paced distribution center.

This onsite role requires experience in inventory control, strong communication, and the ability to verify cartons, maintain documentation, and support additional tasks such as stock withdrawals and order processing as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 6 months experience in Inventory Control in a Warehouse/distribution center setting.
  • Experience in a distribution, fulfillment, warehouse, inventory, or comparable operational environment.
  • Ability to use warehouse management, carton-tracking, reporting, and basic spreadsheet tools to research and reconcile work.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, attention to detail, and follow-through across multiple operational partners.
  • Ability to follow established operational, safety, inventory, and documentation standards and escalated discrepancies appropriately.
  • Ability to work on-site in a distribution environment, move throughout operational areas to physically verify work, and support required operational schedules.
  • Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
  • This is an onsite and in office role.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and reconcile released waves and aged work, ensuring outstanding cartons are accounted for as completed, physically validated WIP, or documented exceptions.
  • Research stalled or unaccounted-for cartons using PKMS/carton tracking and physical verification to determine current status, location, ownership, and required next action.
  • Coordinate with Wave, Picking, Exceptions, Personalization Techniques, QA, Packing, and operational leadership to drive outstanding work and exceptions to resolution.
  • Track and communicate aging, unresolved gaps, and customer-service risks; elevate missing work, system discrepancies, inventory concerns, or process barriers requiring leadership action.
  • Maintain accurate wave-closure documentation and carton-tracking status, and identify recurring trends or process failures contributing to aged or incomplete work.
  • Support additional operational priorities based on business needs, including Stock Withdrawals and Business Sales order processing, tracking, coordination, and follow-up, while ensuring primary wave closure responsibilities remain current.

The Wave Closure Clerk supports Personalization Operations by monitoring and reconciling released work through completion. This role researches aged and outstanding cartons, validates work-in-process, and coordinates follow-up on exceptions or stalled work. The clerk partners with Operations, Wave, Picking, Exceptions, Personalization Techniques, QA, and Packing to maintain accurate visibility and drive timely resolution. The role helps protect customer service by ensuring unresolved work is identified and escalated before it continues to age. The Wave Closure Clerk position is located in Olive Branch, MS
