Job summary

HEAD Water Sports is seeking a Product Manager to bridge market needs with headquarters, retailers, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality dive products for the North American market.

The role requires strong understanding of the NA dive market, hands-on product knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a global environment. Travel to domestic and international locations is anticipated.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Product Management, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a consumer products environment.
  • Preferred experience in dive or sporting goods industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in product management (3-5 years).
  • Strong knowledge of recreational diving equipment and North American dive industry is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Dive product categories throughout the complete product lifecycle, from concept through launch, growth, maturity, and phase-out.
  • Identify new product and market opportunities based on customer needs, dealer feedback, competitive activity, industry trends, and business objectives.
  • Define product requirements, target customers, positioning, pricing, sales potential, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Regularly review product performance and lifecycle status to ensure objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with HQ to evaluate dive products through hands-on use, testing, and competitive evaluation for North America.
  • Maintain current knowledge of HEAD Water Sports dive products and relevant competitive products through regular diving and hands-on evaluation.
  • Provide training to sales, retailer network, and internal/external audiences as required.

The Product Manager serves as a key link between, the market place, headquarters, retailers, sales reps and management, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, and international teams to ensure that HEAD Water Sports develops and delivers innovative, competitive, high-quality products that meet customer needs and support the company’s business objectives.

This role requires a strong understanding of the North American dive market, hands‑on product knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities in a global, cross‑functional environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management
  • Manage the Dive product categories throughout the complete product lifecycle, from concept and business evaluation through launch, growth, maturity, and phase-out.
  • Identify new product and market opportunities based on customer needs, dealer feedback, competitive activity, industry trends, and business objectives.
  • Define product requirements, target customers, positioning, pricing, sales potential, and go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Regularly review product performance and lifecycle status to ensure established business objectives are being achieved.
  • Working collaboratively with the HQ Team, evaluate and compare dive products through first‑hand use, testing, and competitive evaluation specifically for North America.
Market & Competitive Analysis
  • Maintain a strong understanding of dive markets, including customer needs, competitive products, pricing, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Gather and analyze competitive information, including product features, pricing, positioning, sales activity, and marketing strategies.
  • Translate market intelligence and customer feedback into actionable product opportunities and recommendations.
Pricing, Forecasting & Business Planning
  • Develop recommended pricing and market strategies for assigned product categories.
  • Work collaboratively with the Logistic Team to develop and maintain product forecasts.
  • Monitor product performance and provide recommendations based on sales, financial, market, and competitive information.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing and Sales Teams to develop effective product positioning, launch plans, promotional activities, and product communication.
  • Provide the Sales organization and Retailers with the support, product information, competitive comparisons, presentations, and other tools necessary to effectively sell the product line.
  • Work collaboratively with the NA Service Teams and HQ to develop and conduct product and technical training for the sales organization, retailer network, and other internal or external audiences as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of HEAD Water Sports dive products and relevant competitive products through regular diving and hands‑on product evaluation.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Product Management, or related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a consumer products environment
  • Preferred experience in dive or sporting goods industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in product management (3-5 years), product development, category management, marketing, sales, or a related commercial function preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of recreational diving equipment, dive consumers, dealers, and the broader North American dive industry is highly desirable.
Professional Requirements
  • A passion for Water Sports and currently recognized scuba diving certification is required.
  • Frequent diving and hands‑on evaluation of dive equipment are essential responsibilities of the position.
  • Must maintain the physical ability and qualifications necessary to participate in diving and product evaluation activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
Travel Requirements
  • Domestic and international travel is required
  • May require participation in diving activities in a variety of domestic and international locations.
