Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection seeks a Watershed Maintainer for the Ashokan Chemical Treatment Facility in Ashokan, NY. The role supports water treatment, monitoring, and maintenance across the Catskill Region to ensure safe drinking water for New Yorkers.

Responsibilities include operating SCADA/HMI systems, performing inspections and repairs, and keeping detailed logs. Candidates must hold NY water treatment licenses (IIB and C) and a NY driver license.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of water operation/maintenance experience.
Must obtain NYSDOH Grade IIB and Grade C water treatment certificates.
Valid NY driver license maintained for duration of employment.

Responsibilities

Inspect, operate, maintain, calibrate and repair water treatment infrastructure.
Monitor SCADA/HMI systems and keep logs of operations and maintenance.
Perform routine road, grounds, and facility maintenance and operate related equipment.
Be prepared for weekend rotations, nights, holidays, and shift work as needed.
