Job summary
AA WATERJET INC is a Montclair-based precision design and manufacturing shop that specializes in architectural and artistic components created with OMAX waterjet cutting systems. We seek a full-time Waterjet Operator who is also an artist and craftsman, capable of CAD/CAM prep and leading creative projects across a small shop.
You will run and maintain an OMAX 55100 waterjet, interpret drawings, collaborate on custom fabrication, and help keep the shop organized and safe while delivering
Qualifications
- Proficient with CAD prep and CAM workflows.
- Hands-on experience operating OMAX waterjet (3+ years preferred).
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership qualities and ability to work independently.
- Background in metal art, sculpture, or design is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot OMAX waterjet systems.
- Perform pump maintenance and rebuilds (preferred).
- Prepare and run CAD/CAM files (OMAX Layout/Make).
- Interpret drawings and artistic concepts for production and projects.
- Keep the waterjet center and shop organized, safe, and efficient.
- Assist with general shop work including fabrication tasks.
- Collaborate on artistic design and custom fabrication projects.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and detail in all cuts and finished work.
