Job summary

Lakeside Structures is hiring a Welder / Laborer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in structural steel construction. This role is for someone who can weld, rig, fit, and work alongside a steel crew in real job site conditions at New Braunfels, Texas.

Responsibilities include welding structural steel components, assisting with erection, reading basic shop drawings, using grinders and torches, rigging, and maintaining a safe, productive work site outdoors in Texas heat.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in structural steel welding and construction.
• Proficient in stick welding (SMAW); MIG experience a plus.
• Experience working at heights (lifts, scaffolding, steel structures).
• Comfortable working outdoors in Texas heat, cold, wind, and rain.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Ability to take directions and work as part of a crew.

Responsibilities

• Weld structural steel components (columns, beams, brackets, connections).
• Assist with steel erection, fitting, and bolting.
• Read basic shop drawings and field layouts.
• Use grinders, torches, drills, and other steel fabrication tools.
• Rig, move, and position steel safely.
• Perform general labor duties as needed to support the crew.
• Maintain a clean, safe job site.
• Follow all safety procedures and job site rules.
