Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification and 2–3 years of lifeguarding experience.
• 2–3 years working or volunteering with youth in recreational/educational settings.
• Professional experience supervising or leading peers; demonstrated leadership with young adults.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; attention to detail; initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support health, safety, and wellbeing of campers and staff.
• Co-supervise a team of lifeguards and specialists; provide training and daily oversight.
• Guide staff on lesson planning, activity prep, and lifeguarding protocols.
• Create and maintain waterfront schedules; ensure coverage at all times.
• Manage waterfront equipment; inventory supplies; keep the boathouse orderly.
• Direct swimming skills tests with emphasis on safety for beginners.
• Delegate campers to activity blocks; manage daily roster.
• Prepare camp programming in advance and coordinate with Activities Coordinator.
• Develop creative waterfront games and events; plan for weather contingencies.
• Evaluate waterfront staff performance and provide formal feedback.
• May serve as lifeguard when needed; assist with camper care as required.
